&

KETAMINE-ASSISTED
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Offering therapy services

You may share this common thread with the people I see in therapy: You’re always there for everyone but yourself.

I help you build confidence, self-compassion and the power of choice. My clients describe me as warm, real, and no-nonsense when you need it most.

Sad Woman

Therapy For Those
Who Care Too Much

Is taking care of yourself an utterly foreign concept?

You may know yourself as a caregiver, a mother/father, a partner, a helper… These are all roles you’ve willingly accepted. You’re probably proud of how you contribute to other people's lives. And you should be. You’ve put in meaningful work and it falls in line with how you were raised and the people you had as role models. You’ve done a great job.

There is a whisper of a thought (or maybe a screaming freight train) that you have individual needs. You’re having a hard time figuring out what those needs are.

You’ve always lived for others. You were needed. You were wanted. For all intents and purposes, you are probably still needed and wanted. How do you take care of yourself with all of these demands around you? How do you take care of your emotional needs without letting everyone down?

There are so many ways people come to find themselves in these roles. It could be that growing up, it was never a question that you would live and support the people you have in your life. That’s just who you are.

Maybe you found yourself in an impossible situation with a relationship, a loved ones illness, or a parenting role that only you could fill. You set your wants and needs aside and you stepped up and into that role.

Now, you’re overwhelmed, you’re on the brink of exhaustion, you can’t remember the last time you had fun.

Here are some common signs people share when they've been in these unsustainable roles:

  • Overwhelmed with responsibilities

  • Compassion fatigue

  • Feeling lost

  • Feeling like you don’t have anything left to give

  • Dreading your day

  • Exhausted

  • Turning to alcohol or other substances

After all this time, you’re realizing your life path hasn’t served you.

How did you get here? There are too many possibilities to count. Maybe you are no longer needed. Maybe the loved one you were helping has outside care or has moved on. Maybe your time commitment is reduced. Maybe you are finding yourself increasingly resentful or frustrated with your roles.

It could be any number of reasons.

All you are sure of is...

You are committed to everyone but yourself and you’re unhappy, dissatisfied and can’t do it anymore.

Kimberly Goodrich, LCSW, LCADC

I’ve been a therapist for 17 years and the world has certainly changed during that time.

You have changed over that time too and that’s where I can help.

I understand that you didn’t arrive here overnight. There are patterns, hurts, and fears that you’ve been ignoring or are completely unaware of that influence your everyday life.

I’m here to help you.

More importantly, in therapy with me, I will be there to help you heal and grow into the person you never knew you could be.

What is Real Self-Care?

You may be wondering what the term self care even means.

Does it mean getting your nails done or a hair appointment? Well, sometimes it does.

But you’re not on a therapists website because you need help making a hair appointment.

You’re here because you haven’t done anything for your long-term emotional needs. You’ve been actively raising kids, taking care of your partner, running the household, maybe you’re a caregiver for a family member.

Don’t get me wrong, having a few hours of a hair appointment may be your only “break” from these all-consuming roles you have.

I’m not here to stop you from doing those things.

I want to help you add to your life, not take things away.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in a clinical setting is a safe, legal, and powerfully effective way to take your healing journey to the next level.

Ketamine has been used since the early 1970's for anesthetic purposes in medical settings.  In recent years, it has been discovered that Ketamine, when given in small doses in conjunction with psychotherapy, has psychoactive effects that work on a structural level to change neural pathways in our brain. Changes in neural pathways within the brain offer significant, long-lasting shifts in the way we feel, think, behave and connect with ourselves and the world around us.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy has been proven to treat numerous mental health issues, including:

  • Treatment-Resistant Depression

  • Generalized Anxiety & Social Anxiety

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

  • Addiction

In addition, KAP can also be used to treat chronic pain, interpersonal issues and existential issues.

I encourage you to learn more about this groundbreaking treatment technique that offers a unique opportunity for transformation and healing.

How Therapy Helps You Care, Better

In therapy with me, we will answer these questions:

  • How do we fill your cup back up?

  • Do you know what fills you up?

  • What recharges you?

  • What makes you excited about living?

Together, we’ll look at this extraordinary life you’ve been living for other people. This life of service.

We’ll take a look at how you got here and where you are now. We’ll figure out how you want to live instead. Living for others, solely, certainly hasn’t worked out. Let’s strike a balance that fulfills this aspect of your life and also meet your own unmet needs.

In therapy with me, you’ll be met with compassion, openness and acceptance. I am not here to judge. I will always be real with you. I am not one of those therapists that will be a blank slate and silently nod along. I’m a real person and wish nothing but to help you live with grace and dignity.

I’m uniquely qualified in my understanding of life-long struggles and how changing them can be so hard. With almost two decades worth of experience as a therapist, coupled with my own life experience, you’ll get a therapy relationship that brings real connection, considers real life and finds real direction.
